About Stephanie

During the spring of my senior year in college, I was hit by a drunk driver while waiting in my car at a stoplight. The force of the impact smashed my car into the car in front of me, leaving me with painful, long-term soft tissue injuries.
I spent years going to doctors and receiving physical therapy, chiropractic and massage treat-ments. Everything helped somewhat, but none of these treatments was able to fully heal me. When a doctor told me that nothing more could be done and I was just going to have to accept a life of pain and limitation, that was the last straw. I was in my twenties. I knew I could heal and I did not want to live the life he was describing to me. I decided in that moment that I would do whatever it took to heal from my injuries.
With single-minded determination, I began asking people I trusted for suggestions. I decided that I would try anything that sounded reasonable, even if I had never heard of it before. That's when an acquaintance of mine mentioned Rolfing. I had never heard of it, but it sounded like it just might work. I am so happy to say that it worked better that I could have hoped. By the end of my tenth session, I felt stronger and healthier than I did as a college athlete before my accident. I was so impressed with Kim, my Rolfer, as a person and with Rolfing as a healing process, that I became a Rolfer myself several years later.
I take pride in my classical approach to Rolfing; staying as close as possible to Ida Rolf's perceptive vision and standard of excellence while incorporating new and innovative techniques whenever appropriate. In addition, I strive at all times to be sensitive to the needs and goals of my clients while maintaining a high standard of professionalism.
Clients have sought me out to heal from lifelong postural problems, car accidents, athletic injuries, job-related repetitive stress in-juries, neck and back pain, tension headaches, joint problems and plantar fasciaitis. Others have sought to gain personal insight and healing from spiritual and emotional trauma in order to facilitate personal transformation. Whatever your goals may be, you can trust me to help you get the results you want.
I have been in practice since 2001 as a member of the Rolf Institute of Structural Integration, the Guild for Structural Integration and the International Association of Structural Integrators. To supplement my work, I have studied Craniosacral technique and the Reiki method of natural healing. I have also earned a BA in Sociology from Augsburg College in Minneapolis, Minnesota where I graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Honors program. More recently, after passing a rigorous exam, I have become a Board Certified Structural Integrator. As of January 2011, fewer than 300 people have earned this title.
I look forward to being of service to you!
Stephanie
