Our connective tissue influ-ences the structure of our body. It determines the over-all shape of our body as well as how different parts of our body relate to each other. Rolfing helps to improve the structure and function of the body through restoring normal length and elasticity to con-nective tissue.
Healing Your Posture

Postural problems and injuries will cause our bodies to create unhealthy compensa-tions. Making matters worse, stress and chronic tension can distort and shorten our connective tissue, leading to a vicious cycle of deterioration and limitation that affects our whole being; physically, men-tally and spiritually. Rolfing is a powerful healing method that releases us from these painful patterns of tension and bracing.

The Rolfing Series

The Rolfing series contains the formula for improving our posture and struc-ture. A typical series consists of ten sessions. Each session builds upon the results of the previous session in a cumulative process. It is important for you, as a client, to be an active par-ticipant in the Rolfing process. Rolfing is a collaboration between client and practitioner that incorporates breath, physical movement and life experi-ence into the healing process.
Clients often report feeling taller, stronger and a greater sense of wholeness after each session. Clients also tend to find they gain a higher level of health and vitality, enhanced physical performance, greater flexibility and improved balance. Chronic discomforts often disappear before the series is completed.
Energy Balancing Sessions
Do you ever feel like your energy is off balance? Maybe it is too low and you feel slow, groggy and unfocused. Maybe it is too high and you feel anxious, agitated and unable to complete tasks. Do you feel like you alternate between these two extremes throughout the day?
If so, you may want to try an energy balancing session. Energy balancing does not take the place of Rolfing. It is a unique combination of the more subtle skills I use to support and enhance Rolfing sessions. These skills include Craniosacral, Reiki, Motility and various forms of movement.
Try energy balancing if you feel you can benefit from a lighter, more subtle shift than what typically occurs in a Rolfing session. Each session will be tailored to your individual needs. Please feel free to ask for more details.
Finding Your Way Back to Balance
Our physical structure is the framework in which our life experience occurs. Our structure is our container for meaning and emotional charge. Injury, chronic or repetitive stress and highly charged emotional conflicts can alter or damage our tissue. Our mind makes sense of these experiences while our posture compenstes for them. This is how our internal state shows itself in our posture and our "body language" at all times.
Rolfing is based upon the optimistic belief that we can heal our-selves by finding our way back to balance. While healing from physical compensations, we may also heal from related psycho-logical and emotional pain. Through this process, we have the op-portunity to achieve greater conscious awareness of ourselves, how we move through the world and what we communicate through our body language.
One of the gifts gained in the Rolfing process is improved aware-ness of our own destructive habits. When we become able to easily shift to healthier habits, we also gain the ability to maintain internal health and balance on all levels; spiritual, psychological, emotional and physical.
